  Overview:

Large scale campus environment encompassing terminal 6, 7 and 8 at Los
Angeles World Airport. The site has existing 24 fiber multimode
(Coring) and Category 5E (Belden) cable distributed through (12) IDFs.
The connecting hardware consist of Siemon and Corning products. The
network topology is very sophisticated and connects various LAN/WAN's.
Fiber backbone is also redundant with separate pathways, connectivity
and equipment. Fiber needs to be upgraded due to technology updates.

Requirement:

1. Update existing backbone to support future bandwidth requirements.
2. Provide (2) separate fiber paths for Chicago and San Francisco.
3. Install conduit and inner ducts to route fiber to all closets.
4. Allow cable system to grow with technology and applications.
5. Minimize cost if system needs repair or relocation due to construction.
6. Plan system for 20+ years of growth.

Solution:

1. Install (7) and (19) tube Air Blown Fiber parallel to the existing
multimode fiber.
2. Blow in (18) strand fiber to each MDF and IDF.
3. Provide Tube Distribution Units at each MDF/IDF for future access and
growth.
4. Install Siemon RIC 72 Port enclosures at each MDF/IDF
5. Conduit and inner duct is now not required and huge savings will be
realized.
